When I lay my head
down tonight
it will be with peace
in my heart.
For too long
this was not the case,
but tonight
my heart is refreshed.
A first step
towards restoration.
The problems of
the world persist,
rage, roil, and burn.
Hope has returned.
With it
our problems
are not solved
but solutions
can be planned.
The storm has come
and gone.
Blown off like a drizzle
in the breeze.
The future is never clear,
always viewed through
a mirror darkly,
but tonight
when I lay down my head
it will be with peace
in my heart,
and tomorrow
when I rise
the next step
will be clear.
