Saturday at Busch Gardens

With the Commanders season tickets that we purchased came the choice of which type of membership we wanted. There were three tiers and I can’t remember all their names other than one was family and the other business. The third one might have been personal but I do not remember. Either way the only real different was what type of season ticket holder even you got access to. The business one had a meet and greet with the players and the other one we didn’t choose had training camp access. The one I choose had a day at Busch Gardens.

I selected that one as we are closer to Busch Gardens than Richmond or Ashburn or wherever the player meet and greet would be (hopefully not a cruise ship). With us having memberships to Busch Gardens I opted not to limit it to the four tickets we would get with our season ticket benefits and we went as a family.

That included the five of us, my sister, and my great nephew. The one thing I learned is it takes much longer to progress through the park on a Saturday than the normal off times that I go. You have to understand I hate lines. I hate waiting and waiting and waiting to get through endless lines to ride a ride that I find enjoyable but not worth an hour plus of waiting when I could simply come on a weekday and not have to deal with the crowd.

To put this is prospective on a normal day that we got it takes us about three hours to make the circuit around the park and that is with stopping to ride a few rides along the way. Yesterday it took us about nine hours to make the circuit around the park. Now we did a lot of stuff. I got to eat at every food booth of the food and wine festival that I wanted to and I got to ride Pantheon with a first timer and watch them scream their head off while I pointed out the sites of the park.

All in all it was a fantastic day, and another great day with family in a week that has been filled with great times with my family. My personal favorite moment of the day was when my wife pointed out she could ride the scrambler with me instead of the kids and while we were invaded by one child it was still a great moment getting to ride a classic amusement ride with the love of my life squashed next to me due to the physics of the universe.
