Strategies for a Successful Second Half of 2025

I have no idea what the second half of this year is going to bring, but it all starts right now. We have made it through the first six months of the year and they were not fun, at least for me. If you enjoyed them then I offer my congratulations. I am happy someone is having fun.

I don’t feel like going through the recap as we can’t change the past and the best thing to do is to keep looking towards the future. For the rest of the year I would like to see some of my fortunes change. Today will be a good start and hopefully tomorrow continues that.

I have put in a lot of hard work on the marketing side of the business and hopefully that starts paying off. It is important to remember I have a business and if I am looking for places to invest that is a good place to start. More and better advertising is always a way to improve as well as looking at ways we can improve other systems and processes.

Reading that terrible business book has made me realize I know more than I think, and perhaps it is time for me to write down some of the lessons I learned, because despite that guy claiming business has changed so much in the past thirty years he couldn’t possibly offer the solution I would argue it hasn’t changed at all. Industries and inventions come and go, ways of acquiring goods and services change, but the basic essence has remained unchanged. Business owners are problem solvers. We offer a solution to a problem to our customers and they exchange money for that good or service.

And the secret formula to marketing? Go where your customers are and telling them how your good or service solves their problem. This is true all the way from the earliest markets to the newest search engines. The most important thing a business can do is identify who their customers are, get in front of them, and tell them how they solve their problem.

This is going to be my second half of 2025. Putting more work into my business to get it in front of the right eyes and tell them how I solve their problem. That really is my problem though. My preferred advertising method stopped getting my business in front of the right eyes in favor of AI generated vanity stats and those right eyes changed from people around my age with pets to people twenty years older with pets.

Those are challenges for the second half of the year, and once a challenge has been identified it can be overcome. It is time for the second half of the year to be a good one.
