After not sleeping at all the previous night I am happy to report I slept like a baby this past night. It is the first good sleep I have gotten in a long time and I feel better today. I keep using the proof that no one in my family got sick to point to what was wrong with me being allergies that lead to an infection rather than a virus but I really don’t know, but again no one else in the house got sick and the ragweed count is high. That one killed me as a kid.
Either way I would like to thank the Washington Commanders for returning to their Deadskins form so I could go to bed a little earlier last night and didn’t have to watch the entire game. Their first two games of the season are the perfect example of the saying you’re never as good as you look when you win and never as bad as you look when you lose. Honestly they looked like a baseball team at the end of a three city road trip or an NBA team on the back-end of a back-to-back.
It was rough to watch. It was an entire team struggle, but it is a tough ask. They went into the stadium with the best home field advantage in all of sports after a short week and basically no practice. They looked tired, sluggish, and unprepared. All the things that would happen to a team coming off short rest and playing on the road. It was ugly and not fun but they weren’t going undefeated anyway and there is next week. Just got to limp home and take advantage of the mini-bye week in front of them.
One a more personal note I was very happy to get that good sleep in. So I can’t be too upset they stunk up the joint. That is what allowed me to go to bed a little earlier in the first place. All in all I am not in a bad mood. Certainly, I wish the team had won, but personal victories are better than no victories and a good night’s sleep after such a miserable week is defiantly a victory.
