Parenting Schedule

Sometimes I hate the layout of Virginia Beach. A lot of the problem is Virginia Beach really started to develop when city planning was a thing and cities were designed to have residential, commercial, and industrial zones. Before that era cities grew up more organically and people lived near where they worked and shopped near where they lived. Virginia Beach is laid out in some crazy way where people think it is good to live far from shopping and dining.

The reason I bring this up is we found a martial arts studio the kids enjoy and I think it would be good for them. The sales pitch never happened. We never got the pricing sheet, but we did sign up for one more class. We will see how that goes and the cost of that will give me some idea of what the entire thing is going to cost. The good deal is that it is it would be a family sign up which would include Abigail as well as us.

The issues are multi-fold. I don’t know how much it cost. I have to no that before I commit to anything. Secondly waiting on it we lose the benefit it would have to Windsor the mascot for lack of focus. Third the dojo is on the other side of the city.

In the line of cost benefit analysis I have no idea of the cost so I don’t know if they outweigh the benefit. I really do believe that the kids could benefit from some discipline. I also think a couple thirty minute to an hour long classes a week aren’t going to mess up their baseball or soccer schedules.

It is important that the kids have a variety of activities and develop a range of skills. Right now our focus needs to be on helping Windsor to organize his mind. To keep it headed in the right direction. I’ve made a deal with him this week that if he does all his school work he can get a big Pokémon stuffy. I have no idea if this will motivate him, but I do think learning focus techniques and other martial arts skills would help him greatly.
