A week I expected to be stressful got off to a relaxed start. I admit that yesterday morning I was not looking forward to this week, but then yesterday was a lot easier than I expected. It was downright relaxing and one of the more enjoyable days I have had in awhile.
While it wasn’t enjoyable to deal with some of the payments I had to make the day itself was very nice. I got a lot of work done and feel like progress has been made towards the deals we are working on. We are getting closer to completion and just have to get through the next few days. Then it will be over and the next chapter will begin.
Here we are one day closer and tomorrow will be one day closer still. Each day brings with it challenges and opportunities. It is up to us to face those challenges and take advantage of the opportunities. Too often this year I have felt like a fly fighting against the spider’s web. Each struggle pulling me in tighter and tighter. Now I feel like a finish line is in sight. That the forces I was fighting aren’t overwhelming and that I am not in danger of drowning. That all those struggles had a purpose and we’re nearing its culmination.
Yesterday was good for a few reasons. I am finally getting into the very thick and very long book I started. I have been making nearly no progress each day in it, and even yesterday I left it sitting when I should have picked it up. My children returned to the den to watch TV and once I choose the show for them they settled in and relaxed.
They like to watch these YouTube shows and never sit still when doing so. That’s because those shows have no plot. They need something to hold their attention. Something that tells them a story. Otherwise they get bored and start jumping on and off the couch. Giving them something that is bother informative and entertaining is the key.
I also do need to finish reading to them so we can take these books back to the library. We got them in August and it is long past time to get them back. Life has been so busy since then. I am sure we can find time once soccer is done. Tonight is the last practice and it sounds like it will be a good one.
