Mistakes Were Made

This morning is off to a bit of a painful start. When I woke up I noticed my head hadn’t been shaved in a bit and was getting a little furry. This had to be corrected but I didn’t want to take the time to shave. Therefore I broke out the electric razor I have and attempted to shave with that.

From the start the problem was obvious. I’d let the hair grow too long for this razor, but I was committed now. I pushed and applied more pressure and eventually felt like I was getting somewhere. However on the back of my head I ran into a couple problem areas.

No worries, at this point the hair was trimmed down and busting out the regular razor for a dry shave would be no problem. Here is where the real trouble begins. Or continues. However you want to look at it.

I dry shaved around my entire head and still the trouble spots wouldn’t come out. I thought of changing to a new blade but that wasn’t the problem. I gave in and put on some shaving cream but by this point it was too late.

Looking in the mirror I could see how red and angry the right side of my head was and the trouble spots were still trouble. Eventually they fell, but I believe I took an entire layer of skin off in the process.

The lesson here is if there is a method you always use for accomplishing a task, stick with it. In the effort to save time this morning I ended up costing myself time, and created a bit of pain and discomfort that I now have to live with for the rest of the day and perhaps beyond.
