Once more I find myself here on a morning. When you decide to write every morning no matter the thoughts you have it makes it difficult to write when you have no thoughts.
I am going to tell you that yesterday was an interesting day. It was a slow day, but fun. The boys had a birthday party to go to and it was a fun one. It was at an event space that was nothing more than a thin bit of AstroTurf, some separating nets, and a couple items of sports equipment. It is an interesting to use unused warehouse space.
That area of Norfolk is craft brewery central. We passed three on the way in and I know of at least two others in that general area. The reason is it is mostly abandoned warehouses. So, instead of another craft brewery or loft apartments they put in an activity space.
It is a large area where kids can run around and be kids. The games are mostly left to their imagination. There are no trampolines or arcade games. It is simply a space for the kids to be kids.
My kids had tons of fun. Even if they didn’t display it at all times. They both have their own little quirks that they have picked up from me or inherited. I am not sure how all this works, and it can be the hardest situations to deal with when you’re seeing yourself reflected back at you. Now I understand my parent’s frustrations.
The day didn’t end there. It continued until nighttime. We didn’t do much else for the day. The boys begged for KFC for some unknown reason so we had KFC for dinner. At least one of them might have liked it, and I never turn down fried chicken.
