Start at the Start

My feeling of waking up feeling positive energy and ready to face the day has come to a dramatic end. This morning I am full of worry. It was so much that I sat looking at the shortcut icons on the web browser wondering where to go and what to do. How to get started for the day. The only thing I could do was open this one. Start at the start.

The best way to begin a day is to begin it. Sitting there staring at the countless task in front of you isn’t going to get any of them done. I worry about the future and the present and everything else. I went to sleep last night having watched a rogue law enforcement officer shoot a women in the face at point blank range and woke up to the same video all over the news. It is a sad state of affairs and while it has nothing to do with all my other issues it adds to it. It also goes to show my worries aren’t that big.

My biggest worry is in my efforts to improve traffic flow to my business website I destroyed it. I completely ruined it and don’t really know how to get it back. I noticed that our business didn’t have a pin on Google maps like all the other businesses in our industry, and when I tried to set a pin Google unverified our business. Now we aren’t visible on Google maps at all.

One would think my action might have come with a warning before Google pulled that rug out from under us, or that the ten years we’ve been a verified business on Google Maps would matter, but neither of those are true, and now I have to figure out how to undo what I did.

The issue is no option is available to me other than to take a short two minute video for Google. I did one. I showed a business card, a landmark in VB, and my driver’s license. Somehow this wasn’t enough and Google has gone completely AI and has no mechanism to do something like call and ask for the EIN number like any adult business would. Google is a child with too many toys.

I am going to try again this morning, but I do not know if I can get them everything they want in a one to two minute video simply due to the nature of my business. We are a home based service business. It is at least a four minute walk to a street sign and I can’t log into any software and video tape it if I stray too far from Wifi. I really wish someone could just call and ask for the EIN number.
