Is There an Aquarium in Cincinnati

This is one of those mornings where I wake up and remember my dream, and it was a strange one. I was in Cincinnati with a good friend of mine to watch a baseball game, and as we used to do when we would travel to watch baseball games we were wandering around the city looking for something to do. Eventually I suggested going to the aquarium.

At this point in the dream my conscious brain interrupted and questioned if there was in fact an aquarium in Cincinnati. This turned into an argument with my friend now telling me that the aquarium was the best idea I had had in a long long time.

Now the issue that remained was getting to the aquarium. Public transportation or taking an Uber seem like the logical answer, but this isn’t how my friend chose to get to the aquarium. He jumped in the river leaving me no choice but to follow. Once in the river my friend mysteriously turned into my college roommate and I struggled to keep up.

Eventually I lost sight of the person in front of my as my muscles wore out and I could no longer fight the strong currents. At this point I was just sitting there spinning in the river with no hope of getting to shore and then the dream did one of those dream things where it cut to me out of the river and in a cabin on the banks of the river.

I had no idea where I was or how I got there, but there were people there and they were drying me off with a bright purple beach towel. After I was dry they made me a nice meal and my friend from before showed up and asked if I was ready to go to the aquarium.

That was the end of that dream and it left me with one thought. Is there an aquarium in Cincinnati? I googled that before I started writing this and the answer is sort of, and it kind of makes the dream make a weird sort of sense. There is not an aquarium in the city of Cincinnati, but there is one across the river in Newport, Kentucky. So, while diving into the river would not be the logical response of any human to get to the aquarium it would get you there.

It was a strange dream. A really strange dream. I have always kind of wanted to go to Cincinnati, and oddly enough Lexington, Kentucky was Lara and I’s next planned vacation before we had the children. The one we never got to go on because we had the boys instead.
