Checking In On 2022 Goals

We will start with the reading. I set a goal to read 104 books this year. I figured that was one audio book a week and one physical book a week. As of 47 days into the year I have read 19 books which is a pace of 147 books for the year. That is a tad ahead of schedule but with a couple video games coming out I plan to play and the kids continuing to need more attention I do not know if that pace will hole nor if I want it to. The goal remains 104 books by the end of the year.

The other big goal I had was my personal push-up challenge. Yesterday morning I work up and did 100 push-ups. The target was 96. I did four extra because I could. This morning I did 100 again and tomorrow when the target is actually 100 I plan to do 100 then as well. We will see what happens as the target continues to get higher. I have yet to fail since adjusting to increasing the push-up number by two each day as opposed to five. I don’t know if it works better or not. Failure has to happen sooner or later as there are a lot of days left in the year and I doubt I’ll be able to do close to 500 consecutive push-ups by the end of the year.

I don’t recall the other goals I had. I think one was to do two adventures a month with my family and I do not think we did that in January as I kept canceling plans due to the cold weather and what not, but we have made up for it in February. In the last week we have been to the Botanical Gardens, Busch Gardens, and the Aquarium with more planned.

I believe I set a goal to write on this site as often as possible as well. The days in which I have managed to do two posts on here have been great. I need to do that more often but it is difficult with everything else I have to do.

My main resolution for the year was to dress better. That has gone well. It was very easy to purchase collared shirts and sweaters, and I do feel good wearing them. I also saw a doctor for the first time in 20 years. I have high cholesterol but the doctor believes exercise and diet will fix it. As I just started to push-ups in January and have been trying to eat a little better I don’t know what else can be changed. I believe I am doing enough and just need to keep at it.

I feel good about my personal goals for the year. We need to focus a bit more on the business. Too much is falling behind there and not getting done. I might need to write done some business goals.
