For months I had it on the calendar that we were going to a concert on October the 10th and for months I had the childcare scheduled and everything ready to go. Then as we were about to walk out the door I looked at the tickets and they said October 24. That is a great conundrum of our ages.
We went out and had fun. A real fun date night of eating dinner, shopping in the mall, and watching a streaming show on TV. Not quite dinner and a movie but close and still a good time. This economy does frustrate me though. The beer I ordered said it came in a pint glass and it was a stout a beer made to be in a pint glass but instead it was only 13 ounces instead of 16. A clear cost saving cut back.
As a business owner it is a frustration to see this all going on. My business has become more exclusive as time has droned on. We used to pet sit and walk dogs in apartment buildings and smaller neighborhoods. Now we’re the pet sitters to the legacy families of Virginia Beach. A crowd I struggle to understand.
It’s not that big of a deal. According to my clients my advertising of personalized care for your pet is exactly what they are looking for and the exact message that speaks to the luxury crowd. i still miss those old days.
Either way it was good to get out on a date and the shopping ended up with me finally getting a new winter coat. I finally hit the stores at the right time, but the discounts and price were so good that I had to do it. It also was the exact style I have been looking for for the last three years.
I did also have a lovely conversation with my wife and enjoy spending time with her as well as finding a winter coat. She spent time shopping for her Halloween custom, and we had a lengthy discussion of green dresses on the way home.
Overall it was a great night and I am grateful to be a part of a loving family.
