My Brain Has Shutoff and I’m Not Sure What to Do

I’m sitting here about to write when it suddenly happens. Every thought in my head goes silent, and then slips away like water down the shower drain. Just gone. Completely forgotten, and never to return. I have no ideas what those thoughts were or what I was planning on writing. Sometimes the best entries come when I am not thinking.

Yesterday was an interesting day. It wasn’t that interesting. I had to go walk a dog to start the day and then I worked for a little bit and then bought a new printer because our old one died. The ink replacements for this new printer are $100 and that is low for ink. The printer was aren’t $150. It is 2/3 the price of a new printer to buy the ink, and the printer comes with ink. If you think about it the printer, itself, is only $50.

It was a strange experience buying that printer. There were a bunch of floor staff in the computer section, but none of them seemed to want to help me. By the time I got someone I already had figured out what I wanted. I was thinking maybe a laser jet printer would be good because it wouldn’t run out of toner as often as the old one ran out of ink and it wouldn’t have an ink pad to fill up or whatever happens to ink printers when they die.

In looking at what was available the only laser jet printer that did color was $500 and gigantic in size. Then I saw what they called super jet printers. That use canisters of ink and claim to last two to three years per refill. This sounded like a good deal. That is what I ended up buying. I asked the person that eventually came to help a couple questions but not as many as I had before.

I got the printer and left and now I need to email myself the thing I need to print so that I can print it. I might have saved it on my personal drive automatically. That sometimes happens. I should check the folders on this computer and maybe this new printer can be on the network.

The printer also claims to have AI, but as that is the buzziest buzzword around right now I don’t know if I believe it. I am finding few people really understand AI and how limited it is right now. I’ve tried to use it to do things and beyond basic research it isn’t great at doing stuff. Automation is still better for that. I guess we will find out what the printer AI is like. Let’s just hope it doesn’t mate with the toaster.
