Monday, Monday

It is always a fun and exciting adventure to wake up Monday morning. Especially after doing what should have been an easy activity and learning how fragile parts of me have become. Mostly my left knee, but that was the knee that gave me issues in high school and I am not sure has ever fully healed. Last night the church did a bowling night and I decided to go. It was a good time but I did learn that I am good for one game of bowling and that is about it.

Things started off well. The ball rolled where I wanted and hit the pins I wanted it to. I had good control and felt like I was finding my rhythm. Then the knee started to complain a little and the ball wanted to go to the left or the right. It did not want to go straight. That is when I began over thinking things and made everything worse.

Near the end of the night things started to come back to me, but I was never in a rhythm I was for those couple of frames in the middle of that first game. I just didn’t have it, but I also hardly ever bowl and the last couple times it has been with the kids.

What I really need to do is figure out an exercise program and it doesn’t have to be more complex than doing push-ups at home. That thing where I did 100 push-ups a day for a month worked really well. I just need to do it for more than a month. I need to do it forever.

That is something that I have to start doing. Get a little bit more movement in my day. My entire day used to be movement. Now most of my day is spent sitting somewhere. Either here in front of a computer, at Gather in front of a computer, or sitting in a chair reading or watching TV. That is what my day has become.

I just need to get a little bit more movement going. Get those pushups in throughout the day. It doesn’t take long for 100 pushups a day to become trivial. I just have to get past the starting point. Get that habit started so it can continue.
