Schedule changes take some getting used to and in the same way as time can be saved the same as money we should have seen this one coming. The summer time expense for families with younger children is real. It is one of the realist things that happens all year, but I didn’t fully account for the true start of it.
With Abigail out of school or schedules have already started to move. We have one extra person at home and one that requires a lot of attention, and if this weekend was any indication things are going to get a lot more difficult when the boys get out of school.
Yesterday was a wild and crazy day. I ended up doing work for both Stable Hands and Campbell Drive Properties between the times that Lara had visits to do. That made the day a bit of a juggling act.
The kids gave me their worst when I was isolated with them. I am unsure what to do in those times other than to tell them to go outside, but they don’t always listen to that. They did want to play baseball that one time so maybe that will work again next time their energy levels reach maximum overdrive.
One way or another I made it through that and survived my time alone with children with an energy level overflowing through the house. Now we are looking at the next summer schedule change. Church just a little bit later in the morning, and that one hour makes a big difference.
I don’t know what else we’re going to be doing today. The temperature still isn’t super warm. Which is both good and bad. It means it is comfortable to do most outdoor activities but swimming can still be a little chilly for the kids.
We’ll get it taken care of. We will figure out a way to get the children’s energy out in a fun and productive way even if I don’t know what that is right now. We need to manage the schedule changes instead of being managed by them. That is another way time is like money. When you forget to save it the known big expenses feel like surprises, but they can be planned for and even surprises can be planned for too.
