For some reason I like torturing myself when I wake up. Out of habit I opened my brokerage account this morning and looked at a flat line moving towards 6:00 PM, then Googled the Iran war, and finally went over to Reddit. The biggest talk right now on Reddit is confusion that the S&P isn’t going down, discussions of what will finally burst the AI bubble, and people laying the modern chart over historic charts to show how bad it is while debating different modelling systems.
All fun and completely irrelevant to the day at hand. The interesting thing is my mind is working in almost the opposite direction of most people. AI is unique. I am sure you can see it and feel it. It is starting to be a surface under everything. If then intelligence revolution is real then it becomes the subsurface under everything, because unlike the internet AI isn’t contained. It can live in cars, cellphones, televisions, laptops, and it can even be in household appliances and maybe your favorite seat.
It is interesting to look back at where the technology was a year ago and how far it has already come. The rate of growth is a little crazy. I asked AI the other day to quantify the growth in intelligence years from Chat 4.0 through 5.0 to Sol to Astra and it was essentially that at this time last year AI had the intelligence years of a high school intern and now is at the level of someone that has experienced in a field.
That is a crazy rate of growth for just about a year’s time. AI has basically matured a human lifetime in a little over a year. Think about what happens when it becomes recursive and can teach itself. It suddenly is intelligence that replicates like a virus. Generations born and dying in the snap of a finger as it expands its own intelligence, but only intelligence.
I think back to that year ago when I said AI was more artificial than it is intelligent. Now the problem might be it is more intelligent than it is wise.
