It is time to calm the system and let it slow down. I have been doing well actively trading in the stock market. Options trading has given me more money to invest and those investments have grown quite a bit, but it is likely time for a break. This morning shows why. The world is on edge and every little thing is causing it to nearly explode.
I know too much to not be frustrated. Most people in the world refuse to judge themselves. We are the first person we should judge harshly. Yet most people believe they are correct. I like to look for where I am wrong and I keep finding it. I think it might be in the very thing I just said. I know about things like status quo bias and how investors only believe they are forward looking. They are inherently wrong because you can’t look forward. People are always judging future problems with present solutions and that has never been how the world works.
So when I go to sleep after three good days and wake up to it all being reversed it is time to stop checking. To stop looking. Wait until Monday and distribute the money and that is it. That is all I do. Let everything else do what it does for a week. Can I stick to this is the big question and the answer is likely no.
What happened overnight is almost silly. We ended yesterday with good earnings reports from some big companies and today looked like it was going to be good, but then grampa got on his cellphone last night and let everyone know he really wants to bomb Iran before the midterms. I joked earlier this year that Trump has put himself in a position to deliver his own October surprise. A peace deal into another strong earnings season would have done it, but I guess he had other plans.
There are less than two weeks until the election and I am not sure what this guy is doing. It is like a QB deciding to throw the ball backwards. It doesn’t make any sense.
