Mr. Yuck and Auto Updating Glasses

As I was waking up this morning I had a dream that my kids drank Drano thinking it was laxative. Then I had a real epiphany. How are kids surviving without Mr. Yuck? How do they know the difference between bleach and Gatorade if Mr. Yuck isn’t around the tell them?

What is Mr. Yuck up to these days? Did he have to move in with Oscar the Grouch? No one knows, but I can tell you where he isn’t. Warning kids not to drink bleach.

I believe that is it for our Mr. Yuck portion of the journal. It is really hard to write too much about a green sticker we used to put on stuff we weren’t supposed to drink to tell us not to drink it and that we needed a sticker at all to tell us this. We really were some dumb kids.

Yesterday when I was at the eye doctor there was a sales rep in their trying to sell the latest off brand of AI glasses. He was mentioning how people all wanted the META glasses but his were more cost effective and all that. It got me thinking and when I went back with the doctor I mentioned it and that it would be better if the AI glasses could update the prescription on the fly.

I’ve been wearing the progressive lenses for over a year now and sometimes I still look through the wrong part of the glasses for the activity I am doing. I can feel my eyes aging and getting more and more tired as the days go on. It would be nice if the glasses themselves could read my eyes and adjust to what I need.

At present I don’t know if I get the need for AI glasses. What do they do? It could be useful if you could use them to talk to the AI, analyze your surroundings, and get pointed to interesting things you might not have noticed otherwise. AI isn’t bad at cooking. It could help with that but AI wants a squirt of lemon juice at the end of every recipe. AI has its quirks and it is interesting how some people fixate on them or the people that deem it worthless because they don’t like it.

It is a crazy world we live in. I have no problem with people buying AI glasses even if I don’t see a use in them. I don’t have to like everything, but it is interesting to hear how hot the META glasses are because I’ve been sitting over here not taking them seriously. Making the same mistake as others. I still don’t know if that makes me want to invest in META. I get it and Facebook and Instagram are a huge part of our lives, but they seem both overly founder dependent and more exposed to stumbles than the more diversified mega caps.

The glasses could be a game changer for them, but one sales rep saying there is huge demand doesn’t prove the product and META isn’t a company you need to wait for proof. It’s not going to end up a value stock anytime soon.
