Org Chart

This morning’s thought is on the usefulness of AI or how I make some of the newer pieces more useful to me. What I really think I need to do is ask the question what are we missing. What roles do we either fill ourselves or simply not fill at all and what does it look like if the AI handles it?

The new dot feature from ChatGPT is interesting because it looks for things to do. It wants to work. For example it is scheduled to have Monday’s blog post ready for me to review at 8:00 AM today. It is going to do all the research and drafting by itself and then I can review the post and have it schedule it. It really is quite insane.

Yet is this the most useful use of it? What else could it do, and what do we need it to do? Those are the questions and I do think it begins with an org chart. What parts of our business can be automated to a point that they can be handed off?

It is kind of crazy how we ended up here and now I wonder if I can figure this out for my business could I figure this out for someone else’s? Or could I buy a non-modernized business, modernize it, and sell it? I have a lot of questions this morning, but that is where things are. There are more questions than answers.

I always wonder about people that believe themselves. I can’t seem to stop looking at Reddit and the investor subreddits might actually be the worst. People on there are not intelligent and it is frightening. I sent a screen shot of a conversation to a friend last night, a friend that always tells me I am too optimistic about the intelligence of people, and when he saw this he said, “This might be the dumbest person alive.”

What the person couldn’t understand is the difference between a US company and a US based company. It really isn’t a hard concept. If people are going to make observations and inferences about an upcoming stock market crash because the S&P500 has reach X level of the world economy then we should be honest about the companies in it.

Which gets us back to AI. The technology is accelerating which means everything around it is accelerating, and that means we’re not going to see this predicted slowdown for awhile now.
