Do You Believe in Miracles

I texted my friend last night that I have an irrational hatred of Clemson and don’t know why. He told me Tech not having beaten them since Tyrod was the QB was a good reason. This is a good reason and I had no idea that Tech hadn’t beaten Clemson since 2007. That is a long drought, and it ended last night.

I was able to watch only a very little of the game because I wanted to enjoy an evening with my wife and sometimes she runs away if I watch college football. So compromises have to be made. It is just like Chinese food that I haven’t been able to fully experience in 20 years.

Reading back over that I now wonder when compromises become compromising and this journal entry a lot harder to write. Most of the time I just go with my thinking but this morning my thinking is have I given up too much of myself for someone else.

Maybe that is why I have been in such a funk lately. I gave my purpose to a computer and my soul to my wife and now I am an empty shell of a human. Just wondering around with no identity or purpose. Not that having someone to enjoy Chinese food, college football, roller coasters, and horror movies with is my full identity but it would be nice.

I know my wife loves me and I am not trying to be negative. The relationship is good and we both gave stuff up to make it happen and with kids even more sacrifices had to be made, but I would be lying if I didn’t say I want some things back. And yes I do all of those things alone, but that isn’t the same. That is probably why Lowe’s last weekend and the baseball game earlier this year were such good days. They were things everyone enjoyed.
