Whenever I try to explain to people that I don’t have thoughts they think I am being self deprecating, but I am serious. The best way I can explain it is I can’t visualize and don’t have an internal monologue. It is like my brain will bring me ideas or show me images, but I can’t summon them myself. It is why so much of my thinking is down out loud.
This morning I had a great idea for an improv scene while in the shower. The whole thing was done in the 15 minutes it took me to wash myself, and I am not sure if it really is an improv scene if the entire thing is planned, so maybe I shouldn’t be writing this down. However I am.
This was the scene. A person comes to a therapist to discuss their intimacy issues with their partner and every few minutes the therapist takes a break to watch Looney Tunes. That darn Bugs can’t believe what he’s gotten himself into now. As you were saying your partner and you have a mismatched libido.
It might still work as improve because that is the only side of it I have. I am missing the other person’s reaction, but I did come up with a justification for this behavior. My time is valuable so I mix work and pleasure. That would be the strange point of view and that character could be taken to all short of places. They could become the head of HR of a large company and encourage office romances. Bring a steak dinner to a closing. All sorts of fun things. I mix work and pleasure.
There was one other scene I thought of that I should write down. Two people at class on Thursday did a scene where one person is breaking the news to his friend that he is sleeping with his wife. I thought it would be funny to take it one step further and initiate a scene by saying, “Hey buddy I’m glad you could meet me for coffee. I’ve got to tell you that I’ve been cheating on your wife.”
