I decided to engage with a moron on the internet today. I had left a comment on the Facebook post of one of our candidates for governor expressing my anger at my children’s pre-school being closed and someone decided to tell me how they thought it was and by now you’ve seen all these arguments. These people talk like a dialog tree. If you’ve talked to one you’ve talked to all of them, but I’m done talking.
I did not debate. I went right to calling the guy an idiot. He kept trying to debate and I kept pointing out that I wasn’t debating. I was calling him an idiot. Along the line though he brought up car accidents. It is one of their favorite whataboutisms. If you’re so concerned with people dying why don’t we ban cars. They use this one for guns to. I don’t know what these morons think seatbelts, airbags, speed limits, merge lines, stop lights, and stop signs are for but clearly they think we just let people drive however they want.
Then it hit my. Drive the speed limit, wear your seatbelt, don’t drink and drive, and merge properly and in theory you should be safe on the road, but we all know that is a load of crap, and why is it a load of crap? Because no matter how carefully you drive there is always some idiot out there that has had one too many and has a lead foot. It is the perfect analogy.
This is where we are as a country. Most of the people have done the right thing. They’ve gotten the vaccine and wear masks when required, but a slim minority refuse to give a damn about anyone but themselves. They’re the guy staggering out of the bar at 2:00 AM insisting they can drive just fine, but it isn’t 2:00 AM. It is the middle of the damn afternoon and they are going to cause grievous harm.
These people are fools and I have no tolerance left for them. With the kids in pre-school and the pre-school closed for the next couple weeks it feels like it is only a matter of time until one of them catches it. I do not want it to happen. It is the last thing in the world I want to happen, but I fear it is unavoidable.
Think about this for a second. A couple of the long term side effects of covid are loss of taste and smell and erectile dysfunction. Imagine going through life never able to enjoy food or sex because of a bunch of irresponsible ninnies too self-absorbed to get a vaccine when you were two years old. I am out of tolerance for these people and they deserve all the anger I have to spare.
